46 fatal crashes, resulting in 50 fatalities, occurred on streets and highways in Tulsa in 2009. According to information from the Tulsa Police Department, 37 fatal crashes, resulting in 40 fatalities, were worked by TPD in 2009. Another nine crashes, resulting in ten fatalities, were worked by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in Tulsa. (Three homicides in which a vehicle was used were not included in the totals.) The numbers represent a slight decline from 59 fatalities in 2008.
